Position Overview

Responsible for implementing strategic communication plans designed to capitalize on new and existing market opportunities and generate demand in both the short and long term. Build and implement a creative, integrated, multi-channel marketing department that builds brand awareness and reputation, provides a steady flow of sales leads, and measure the return on marketing program investments.

 

Responsibilities

  • Campaigns
    • Perform market segmentation, targeting and positioning for each product line
    • Develop and execute all campaigns including company, standard products, launching new products, services etc.
    • Oversee project management required for execution within schedule and budget
    • Be accountable for measuring and reporting on campaign results
  • Competitors
    • Conduct general market research to keep abreast of trends and competitor’s marketing movements
    • Regularly monitor competition and relay new products, strengths and weaknesses to Sales and other relevant departments
  • Content Development/Promotion
    • Produce ideas for promotional events or activities and organize them efficiently
    • Responsible for producing valuable content for the company’s online presence, editorial design and organizing the company’s publications
    • Manage the creation of all marketing collateral and sales support tools
    • Coordinate with Production and Service to generate Project Profiles and Case Studies in a timely manner
    • Develop, implement and maintain brand standards
    • Facilitate technical writing and white papers; working with Sales and Engineering
  • Events
    • Trade shows- National and Local with designated Sales Personnel
    • Engineer training – overall accountability with assistance from Sales and Engineering
    • Rep training- overall accountability with assistance from Sales
    • Factory tours- as a facilitator with Sales Personnel
  • PR
    • Become the organization’s agent towards external parties such as media, stakeholders and potential clients and build strategic partnerships
    • Enhance customer relationship management processes and technologies
  • Social media- Develop and implement social media strategy
  • Website
    • Update and maintain company websites
    • Search engine marketing/optimization
    • Optimize adwords/advertising and regularly monitor analytics

People Management

  • Provide leadership to all departments and inspire, motivate, coach, mentor and develop direct reports and manage a high performing team
  • Set objectives and monitor department and individual progress and performance
  • Work with the Sales team to translate company goals into specific annual performance goals and departmental objectives. including KPIs, and to track them
  • Complete regular performance reviews, manage attendance, holidays, disciplinary issues and termination as well as recommend pay changes, bonuses and promotions
  • Responsible for developing the department structure, resource plans and culture to support the business objectives and deliverables
  • Identify training and development needs of direct reports and enable and encourage them to achieve success in their roles

Financial Budget and Control

  • Prepare the annual Marketing budget and forecasts and any capital expenditure proposals
  • Manage the budget from identification to completion of projects
  • Input and hold responsibility for marketing budgets including:
    • Staffing including Salary, bonus and training
    • Trade shows
    • Events (Rep and Eng Training, Factory Tours)
    • Advertising/ Website/Email
    • Video Animation
    • Collateral/Literature/Swag
    • Environmental Graphics
    • Consulting and vendor services

  • Ability to lead a department, plan and manage projects and develop and maintain positive employee and customer relationships
  • Ability to produce to deadlines, interact with many people and manage competing priorities
  • Ability to delegate tasks while still keeping overall responsibility
  • Ability to motivate and encourage employees to work to their full potential
  • Technical aptitude – ability to relate to engineers, manufacturer’s reps and plant personnel
  • Continuously seeking and implementing methods to increase product quality, customer service and company efficiency

  • Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (minimum) in Business Administration, Marketing and Communications or relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing management
  • Ability to speak/write in Spanish a plus
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with current and online marketing techniques and best practices
  • Thorough knowledge of web analytics (e.g. Google Analytics, WebTrends etc.) and Google Adwords
  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP relational databases and familiar with software
  • Proven ability to add value, reduce costs and make decisions resulting in business improvements and growth
