New Actuated Sluice Gates and Bypass Bar Racks Part of Massive 46’-Tall Center Flow Screen and Compactor Package in Illinois
Hydro-Dyne engineers again remind us that the best solution is often efficient in operation and elegant in design. A customer in Illinois wanted to be able to electronically operate not only their screens and compactors, but also manage the flow in their sluice system. Hydro-Dyne engineers have designed an all-new, bolt-on actuated sluice gate system that takes the bulk out of old, tired designs. With the new actuated sluice gate, our customer in Illinois will be able to transport screenings from either of the two screens into either of the compactors – efficiently and effectively. This same system can be easily retrofitted to any existing sluice system without the need for cutting, welding and sourcing of expensive equipment.
But our engineers and fabricators didn’t stop there. The customer wanted each of the two massive 46’-tall Great White Center Flow Screens to have a full bypass and screening/capture feature, so our team designed and built two huge 10’-tall bar racks to give each screen an automatic full bypass and capture functionality. When the water level surpasses a predetermined level, the water automatically flows into and through the bar rack. Each of the bars are removable, replaceable and easy to clean due to the angle of the rack.
With these solutions, the customer now has full control of their system and more time to spend in other areas of the plant.
