Material Inspection and Tracking

Our Quality team plays a big part in meeting our obligations to our customers. This means meeting and exceeding all our quality requirements and operating within established standards. Our receiving and inspection process performs incoming material inspections on all materials. Inspectors ensure that incoming material meets domestic manufacture requirements and customer requirements such as; American Iron and Steel (AIS) provisions of P.L. 113-76, Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2014, Buy American provisions section 1605 of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, P.L. 111-5, Pennsylvania Steel Products Procurement Act, Ohio Revised Code 153.011.

In-House Manufacturing

Our 110,000-sq. ft. world-class manufacturing facility utilizes state-of-the-art equipment. We have complete control of our products from start to finish ensuring maximum efficiency, security, and reliability. Continuous improvements through innovation and product testing guarantee reliable end products for our customers around the world.

Factory Testing

A cornerstone of inspection initiatives is our factory testing protocol. Hydro-Dyne Engineering has two, five metric ton hoists that can be operated at the same time. This allows testing of two Bull Shark Screens and Tiger Shark Screens at the same time, or four Great White Shark screens at the same time – to factory acceptance. We are proud to offer this unique testing ability because it allows for longer testing periods, is not weather susceptible, allows testing of more machines simultaneously, and is safer. This testing equipment was manufactured in-house by our dedicated engineering department and quality welders/riggers. For even larger equipment we own a crane capable of lifting equipment outside in excess of 75 feet (23m) tall. We encourage our customers to make witnessing a part of their specifications.

Rigorous Quality Management

Hydro-Dyne Engineering is compliant with all contractual and regulatory requirements, environmental regulations, and to Hydro-Dyne’s Quality Manual and it is to ISO 9001:2015 standards. We follow specific procedures to evaluate the efficacy and reduce the potential for nonconforming products. Our regularly scheduled internal audits help safeguard against nonconformity and risks because they are identified in real time.

Factory acceptance testing (FAT) is conducted to determine if the requirements of a specification or customers’ requirements are met.

ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standard

ISO 9001 is the internationally recognized standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS). It is the most widely used QMS standard in the world.

ISO 9001 provides a framework and set of Quality Management Principles (QMPs) that ensure a common-sense approach to the management of an organization to consistently satisfy customers and other stakeholders. It provides the basis for effective processes and effective people to deliver an effective product or service time after time.

ISO 9001’s seven QMPs are a set of fundamental beliefs, norms, rules, and values that are accepted as true and can be used as a basis for quality management. QMPs are the foundation to guide an organization’s performance improvement.

How to receive ISO 9001:2015 Certification

To receive ISO 9001:2015 certification, an organization needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. In addition, the organization must aim to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

Hydro-Dyne Engineering Quality Manual is in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 international standards. The manual offers “notes” to define how Hydro-Dyne has tailored our management system to suit our purposes. These are intended to clarify implementation approaches and interpretations for concepts which are not otherwise clearly defined in ISO 9001:2015.
