Receiving Inspection Clerk

Position Summary:

Engages in all Quality Control, Shipping & Receiving, and Material Handling operations.

 

Responsibilities

Receiving

  • Processes job, picking lists, bills of lading, and other like forms to ensure proper fulfillment
  • Package, weigh, and size finished components for shipment
  • Loads and unloads deliveries in a timely manner
  • Ensures appropriate documents are received and correct for all receivables in accordance with company policy
  • Processes receivables against printed purchase orders

Inspection

  • Accurately performs quality control check-in requirements on all incoming components
  • Inspects components per print for dimensional accuracy
  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications and conducting visual inspections and measurement tests
  • Identifies non-conforming materials
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports, forms, logs, or summaries, and inputs data into quality database
  • Ensures appropriate documents are received and correct for all receivables in accordance with company policy
  • Performs final inspection of all products and sales orders for accuracy prior to shipment

Competencies & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in manufacturing, receiving or inspection is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of a working inventory
  • Thorough knowledge of precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, surface plate, etc.
  • Fluent with MS Excel, MS Word, and MRP/ERP software
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to learn
  • Ability to read and interpret prints and BOMs
  • Extremely organizedacute attention to detail, and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and rig odd loads of material safely
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and remain on feet for long periods of time
  • Comfortable working in a non-temperature controlled environment
  • Ability to adapt to the work environment and deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events, while promoting a positive outlook
  • Self-motivated and able to work within tight deadlines
  • Extremely dependable; consistently at work and on time
  • Excellent team member; driven to contribute to the team effort
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ambitious, outgoing, loyal and dynamic
  • Willingness to learn and seek out new skills

Training hours will be Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm for the first month. Position hours will then be Monday through Friday from 4:00pm to 12:30am.

In addition to base salary, candidate will be eligible for a $1.50 shift premium once moved to nights. Company also offers comprehensive benefits package to include medical, dental and vision insurance; paid holidays; two-week paid company vacation; paid time off; and 401(k) with employer match.
