Hydro-Dyne Celebrates Manufacturing Month

October is Manufacturing Month, a time of much-deserved recognition for the solution providers that drive industries around the world – and keep the wheels of commerce spinning, to the tune of $2.3 trillion in manufacturing output in the United States for each of the past three years.

It’s also an opportunity for Hydro-Dyne to recognize the importance of encouraging, educating, and training the next generation of engineers and manufacturers.

Like many other industries, manufacturing took a hit in 2020 with suppressed employment levels, capacity utilization, and order levels.

But the tide is slowly turning, and this month is a great time to accelerate the momentum and let millions of job seekers know that a career in manufacturing is a stable, exciting, and worthwhile endeavor.

Partnerships that develop the next generation of manufacturers

During Manufacturing Month, companies across the United States open their doors to let the public know what a career in our industry can be. We’re proud to work with universities, community colleges, school systems, local governments, and other groups to encourage students of all ages to take an interest in studying science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

By educating and preparing these students today, we are planning for a future that:

• Places our manufacturing infrastructure in good hands
• Empowers our youth to be good stewards of the environment

We do this by hosting young learners at our facility. When we opened the doors of our 110,000 square-foot facility, we invited area groups to see what we do and how we improve the operations at wastewater treatment plants across the United States and around the world. Our guests have included students from colleges and high schools, as well as elected officials, to name just a few. Students have asked great questions as we’ve guided them through the design and manufacturing process.  We love hosting at our facility, because only through outreach and education can manufacturers like us continue to provide the quality equipment and services that public works facilities rely on for healthy communities.
