Production Planner

Hydro-Dyne Engineering is looking for a Production Planner based in Clearwater, Florida. This position requires someone willing to learn and understand our products. HDE designs and manufactures a highly specialized proprietary product line servicing municipal and industrial water treatment facilities around the world. Position Summary: Responsible for maintaining an optimal production schedule based on assigned job priorities, available manufacturing capabilities, and identifying supply-chain risk.

 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials between various departments, ensuring the timely completion of Service and Parts orders
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust as necessary to meet changing demands and prioritize urgent orders
  • Collaborate with production planners, supervisors, and other stakeholders to plan and schedule production activities
  • Track and review inventory needed, ensuring that materials and supplies are available when needed and minimizing production delays
  • Communicate production status, delays, and issues to relevant stakeholders, including management and sales teams
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any issues or discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date production records, including work orders and production reports
  • Coordinate and place Production POs for laser and brake in the Machine shop
  • Work closely with Machine shop leads to continually improve workflow through laser and brake areas
  • Coordinate with planners to ensure final work assemblies are receiving lower level product in a timely fashion
  • Keep work area organized to maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Performs all other duties as directed by Management

Competencies & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, certification or training in Production Planning or Supply Chain Management is a plus
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a Manufacturing or Production environment
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and software systems for production planning, inventory management and data analysis
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills in data analysis and problem solving
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement concepts
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within manufacturing, including production scheduling, inventory control and quality assurance
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as required to meet production deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities and use time efficiently
  • Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration and coordination between different departments
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address issues and make timely decisions to meet production deadlines
  • Self-motivated, able to drive processes to a successful end and work within tight deadlines
  • Extremely organized, acute attention to detail, and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness to ensure quality and integrity of production processes
  • Ability to adapt to the work environment, deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events, while promoting a positive outlook
  • Positive work ethic and capability to work with all team members on every level
  • Works independently and productively with little supervision, but also an excellent team member who is driven to contribute to the team effort
  • Comfortable working in a non-temperature-controlled environment
  • Required to wear PPE equipment at all times while on production floor

  • Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and practices to ensure compliance and maintain a safe working environment.

Position Comp/Hours

  • This is a salary non-exempt position. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and abilities.
  • Standard hours are 8:00am-5:00pm for the office and 6:30am-3:30am for the warehouse. Flexible and hybrid schedules may be available.
